Black Berry Juice!

I came home from work on day, and Brint and I wanted to pick the black berries by the side of our house ...in hopes that we'll be able to make our famous black berry jam. Well, of course Miss Amelia had to help. She just couldn't stand it and wanted to hold the berry ...moments after that she tried to shove the whole thing in her mouth. I quickly intercepted ...mean mommy! I did, however, pop one of the berries for the juice, put it on the end of my finger, and placed it on her tongue. SHE LOVED IT!! She gave me that look again that said "Why didn't you tell me about this earlier??". We had fun watching her enjoying that juice.

This one is my favorite.....

First Daddy's Day!

For Brint's first fathers day Amelia and I (with the help of our friends Katie & Ryan) made a "I Love Daddy" shirt. It was so much fun. Ryan held Amelia while I painted her feet, and Katie was my artistic director :-) Brint loved the shirt, so him and his girl had to pose together in their "I Love Daddy" shirts.

I just LOVE my husband, and Amelia just LOVES her daddy. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect daddy for a perfect little girl!

A little light reading!

One evening I was trying to keep Miss A busy, before going to bed, so while she was sitting in her bouncer I thought i'd give her one of her soft books. She LOVED it. Actually, if you put any book in front of her she will turn the pages. One day we were reading a night time book to her, one of those thick cardboard types, she grabbed one of the pages and turned it. Thinking it was a fluke, she did it again, and again, and now does it every time a book is placed before her. I really hope she is a reader. Cross my fingers that she'll take after her mama, and adore Jane Austen. They should really make Jane Austen baby books ...hmmm! A project for another time perhaps!!

Over the moon!

My friend Robyn & I threw a baby shower for our amazing friend Katie. She is due in late July with her first baby. They are having a boy named Noah. We ALL can't wait for his arrival. So the theme of the shower matched his nursery, which are moon and stars. Super cute, couldn't wait to get started.

I enlisted a little long distance help from Canada. Brint's wonderful cousin, Jen, is a party/event guru. Her passion is to decorate and put on parties. She creates the BEST sweets table. Here is her blog address Forty4Change
So I picked her brain as far as what I could do. Of course it no where compared to hers, but it's a start. I was on a super tight budget, so my best friends were the dollar store AND the dollar bins at Target. Woo, Hoo!! I hand made/put together all the decorations. Which made it more custom, and saved the budget. We had amazing food; Robyn hand carved a fruit bowl from a watermelon and it brought so much color.

The next thing was, what kind of cake do you make/get for a professional cake maker?? Box mix is not an option, and store bought was out of the question, and there was no way I was going to make a pregnant mama make her own cake. So the pressure was on. I was going to make the now popular cake pops, but panicked. I can cook till the cows come home, but baking is not my thing (or it doesn't go well), and these cake pops required melting chocolate ...which scares me even more. So I made mini cupcakes ...who doesn't love cupcakes. The one adventurous thing I did was make white (blue) chocolate dipped marshmallows. They were SO good, and everyone loved them. I really loved putting this all together, and I must admit, can't wait to do another party ...so I can improve my party decor skills. On with the pics!!!!

Thank you to all that came, you made it so much fun!!
